- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) from a recognized university, or an equivalent examination recognized by the State Government, passed by 01 August 2026.
- Home Guard Service: Candidate must be enrolled and trained in the Bihar Home Guards organization with a minimum of 5 years of service / duty.
- Remaining Service: Candidate must have at least 10 years of service remaining on the cut-off date.
- Domicile Note: Reservation benefits (including 35% women reservation) are available only to permanent residents of Bihar. Others are treated as Unreserved.

Selection Process: Preliminary Written Examination → Main Written Examination → Physical Efficiency Test (PET) → Medical Examination, Character and Antecedent Verification.
Candidates Shortlisted: Candidates equal to 20 times the vacancies (category wise, on merit) qualify from the Preliminary Exam for the Main Exam. Candidates equal to 6 times the vacancies (category wise, on merit) qualify from the Main Exam for the PET.
Minimum Qualifying Marks for Final Merit (Main Exam): General 40%, BC 36.5%, EBC 34%, SC / ST / Women 32%.
Tie Breaker: Older candidate is preferred first, then the candidate with higher educational qualification.
- Mode: Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions in all papers.

- Upload the required documents:
- Recent colour photograph (taken within 2 months, white background, 15 KB to 25 KB, JPG / JPEG / GIF)
- Signature in English and in Hindi separately (black or blue ink, 15 KB to 25 KB, JPG / JPEG / GIF)
- Matric / Class 10 certificate (valid proof of date of birth)
